These three simple tips for feeling better about yourself will fit into basically any schedule, and are so simple that anyone can do them.
Do you want to feel a little better about yourself?
I've previously written about how our self-esteem improve our social circles, as well as how we can create a new self-image to help it.
But today I want to share three little tips with you that will easily fit into your week, and require very little time and energy.
Self-care is anything that helps you take care of yourself.
For some that might be to curl up with a good book. For others it’s exercise. Or spending time with loved ones. Or being in nature. Or…you get the point.
Start making self-care activities a high priority in your schedule, and make sure you do plenty of it every week, and it will have a positive impact on your self-esteem.
Why? The short answer is that when your own (unconscious) mind sees that you prioritize taking care of yourself, it assumes that you must be worth taking care of. This will encourage it to start creating more positive thoughts and feelings about you.
It’s not about looking good, or being strong or fast, or whatever. This tip is about the simple fact that physical activity stimulates the release of endorphins in our body, which tend to make us feel relaxed and elevate our mood.
Physical activity also reduces stress, helps us calm our thoughts, and it also shows your mind that you choose to take care of yourself. All of these tend to help with how we feel and think about ourselves.
And the good news is that even low-strain activities like going for a walk will help, so no need to sweat your butt off at the gym – unless you want to.
While there’s nothing wrong with routines, and I understand that you might have a busy schedule, try switching a few things up in your day on a regular basis.
Experiencing new things regularly helps stimulate all kinds of great processes in our mind.
Creativity, attention, learning, open-mindedness, improvisational skills – all of these and more will be positively stimulated by variety.
Even small things, such as rearranging your work desk, eating your breakfast in a different place than usual, or taking a different route to work will help. So lack of time and energy is no excuse.
Play with these for now, and very soon I'll have a whole course about self-esteem ready for you. And I’m really excited about this one!
